Darren A. McNair grew up in Lexington, OH, near Mansfield, and graduated from Lexington High School. He graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a minor in Greek and Roman Art and Architecture.  While at Miami, he was a member of the Miami University Rugby Football Club and the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.  Mr. McNair then attended Capital University Law School where he was a member of the Capital Law School National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Team.  While attending law school, Attorney McNair worked for The Supreme Court of Ohio, Disciplinary Counsel, The State of Ohio Medical Board, a criminal law firm, an insurance defense law firm, as a research assistant for a criminal law professor, a general practice law firm, and was a Certified Legal Intern in the Capital University Law School Legal Clinic.

Mr. McNair is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, American Association for Justice and Ohio Association for Justice.  In 2002, Mr. McNair was licensed by the State Bar of Ohio to practice in front of all state courts and agencies.  In 2003, he was licensed in the United States District Court, both Northern and Southern Divisions, and United States Bankruptcy Court, both Northern and Southern Divisions. 

While an attorney, Mr. McNair has been counsel of record and argued in several jury trials, hundreds of bench trials (within Common Pleas Courts, Municipal Courts, and Small Claims Courts throughout Ohio) and argued cases before the Tenth and Third District Courts of Appeal.  He has experience in general civil litigation, complex litigation, negligence cases, wrongful death, contract review, breach of contract cases, small business formation and consultation, landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, misdemeanor and felony criminal matters, domestic violence cases, family law, consumer and commercial collections, as well as experience in simple estate planning mechanisms. 

Mr. McNair is an active member of AmSpirit Business Connections, a national organization that assists sales representatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals succeed by creating a forum where they can exchange qualified referrals with other sales representatives, entrepreneurs and professionals. Attorney McNair is an active member of the Columbus Bar Association’s Notary Public Committee and New Lawyers Advisory Board.  In 2005, he was chosen amongst many applicants and honored to be selected as a Barrister Leader.  He also published an article in the 2006 Fall Edition of Columbus Bar Briefs and volunteers as a judge for Ohio High School Mock Trial Competitions. 

Away from the office, Mr. McNair enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and son, Colin, and his family and friends.  He also is an avid Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan and enjoys playing the guitar.
